Debbykk

Debby

Debby is a Yellow Room Teacher and has worked at The Children’s Center since May 2011. She has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Southern Maine Community College and is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Maine, Farmington. Her philosophy of teaching is that learning is based on children’s interests and hands on experiences. The enviornment can be an additional teacher and we take advantage of the natural playground and use it as an extension of the classroom. She wants to develop the children’s relationship to the natural world to build a foundation for ecological literacy.

Debby is a professional member of NAEYC and Maine Roads to Quality,
Level 6.

Away from work, she enjoys time with her family, especially her grandchild, reading, the Art Walk in Portland, and walks with her husband.

 

Brandi Emerson

Brandi 

Brandi is A Yellow Room Teacher and has worked at The Children’s Center since 2013. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and attended University of Maine at Orono and Southern Maine Community College. Her philosophy of teaching includes providing an inclusive environment that is welcoming and supports all children in their social/emotional growth.

She is a member of Maine Roads to Quality.

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.

 

Molly

Molly is the Afternoon Yellow Room Teacher, assists with our music program and has worked at The Children’s Center since 2014. She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from the University of Southern Maine.

 

PURPLE ROOM

Elleena

Ellee is a Purple Room Teacher and has worked at The Children’s Center since 2014. She has a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in Child Development Psychology. Ellee believes that children should be encouraged to explore and learn by doing. She feels that when children are comfortable with their caregivers, they more confident learners. Children should be respected and listened to and each child is an individual.

Ellee is a member of NAEYC and Maine Roads to Quality.

Away from work, Ellee enjoys going to the movies, playing with her dogs and reading.

 

Tammy Michaud

Tammy

Tammy is a Purple Room Teacher and has worked at The Children’s Center since 2011. She has an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Casco Bay College. Her philosophy of teaching includes allowing each child to grow and learn at their own pace while providing a safe and nurturing environment where each child feels secure to explore new activities.

“I shower them with love and give them my complete attention whenever they have something to say.”

Tammy is a professional member of NAEYC and Maine Roads to Quality,
Level 3.

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, and cheering all New England sports teams.

Jessica

Jess is a Purple Room Teacher and has worked at The Children’s Center since 2016. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and Photography from Maine College of Art. Her philosophy of teaching is that all children learn through play.

Jess is a member of Maine Roads to Quality, Level 2.

Away from work, Jess enjoys flea-marketing, photography and spending time at the beach.
